Nap time

Looks like Lucy likes Madalyn just fine. They both laid down to take a nap together today.

Happy 4th of July!!!

I hope you all had a fun 4th of July, I know we did. Jared and I just got our patio put in this past week so we invited the family over for dinner. We had burgers and smores and fireworks (and only one small fire that Jared lit with his smoke bombs). As you can see Madalyn is sporting a big smile with her fireworks (looks like she is on the track to become a piro maniac like her dad).

Great Grandma Alvino

The day after Madalyn was born Grandma Alvino got sick and had to go to the hospital. This Saturday she was able to come home and I brought Madalyn over to meet her. I was so thankful that she was able to hold her. She is 94 years old and I'm not sure how much longer she has with us.

So sweet (now).

As peaceful as she looks right now, a couple of hours ago was a completely different story. She had to go to time out (or maybe it was me in time out) 2 times today. I fed her, I changed her, I held her and nothing made her happy. And when Madalyn isn't happy she let's you know about it with her cry that can be heard around the world. So it was in the best interest of both of us to put her in her room and close the door and let her (and me) cry it out.
Don't worry we are friends again and she is sleeping peacefully as you can see.

Happy Birthday's

Since Jared's side of the family is so big, we celebrate birthday's in bunches. This time we were celebrating Jared, Madalyn, Caitlyn, Mom, and Megan. We traveled (ok, not really traveled, but it does seem like a haul) up to Fort Lupton to Jared's parent's farm. I can't wait until Madalyn is old enough to ride the horses and play in the dirt. Madalyn, as you can imagine, wasn't without love all day. These are just a few pictures of her being held by someone other than her "baby hog" auntie Kristin.

POOP

OK, so I am now officially in the "I had to give my baby a bath because there was poop all up her stomach and back" club. I had no idea that something so small could make such a big smelly (and yes green) mess. Anyway, I got it done without even a gag - I know, I guess I'm growing up.
Anyway, just thought I would share.

Happy Fathers Day

What a perfect father's day present :) Here Maddie is (not even a week old) with her daddy, her uncle Anthony and her Cousin Isabella. After the photo shoot, the boys went inside to play the Wii, the grandparents played with the babies, and the girls just hung out.

Going Home

We ended up having to stay in the hospital for an extra day - Luckily. Day 2 was pretty rough. The nurses were great and after much testing and trying (and crying - me and Madalyn) we found out that she was STARVING :) Yep, she was born with daddy's appetite - and hopefully she has his metabolism too.
Anyway after day 2 were more than ready to go home - Thanks grandma Becky for my going home blanket.

Madalyn Grace

Madalyn Grace was born on June 9th at 12:45am. We were so lucky to have our friends and family at our side during the process. In fact while I was in labor pushing we could hear whispers and chuckling right outside the door.
Well she was definitely worth the wait. She was 8lbs 1oz and was 20 inches long.

Joining the Club

If any of you know me, you know that I hate to be left out :) So here I am joining the bloggers club. I won't however make the same promise that my good friend Christina did (to update daily), because I know it will never happen. So here goes...
